Anytime I write a post on confidence, it always seems to do well, which makes me think this is something a lot of people are looking for and don’t know where to start.
Confidence is probably the most important skill you will ever learn in your life. It can open so many doors and help you find fulfillment. I don’t believe confidence is something you are born with; it’s something we learn. I truly believe anyone can be confident with the right tools and mindset.
I have always been an outgoing person; however, there have always been certain areas I have struggled with when it came to confidence—mainly when it came to taking a chance on myself and really putting myself out there.
Fast forward a few years, and although it is a journey, I feel I have come so far. I have developed a certain level of belief and certainty in myself that I have cultivated over the years, and I would like to share with you how I got here…
Changing Your Mindset
Changing how you think is always the best starting point. Confidence is sometimes just about how we view ourselves. I think it’s important to remember that no one is confident all the time—it is something that comes and goes.
Things You Can Do
Following through on what you say you will do is the best way to build confidence. When you say you are going to do something and then don’t do it, a small part of you stops believing in yourself. By sticking to your promises, you create the trust in yourself that you can get things done.
You can start really small with this too—it doesn’t have to be big things. Before you know it, you will have this unshakeable belief in yourself.
Finding What Works for You
Keep a journal of when you feel most confident. Find your own personal equation for confidence that works for you. I read this somewhere a long time ago (I’m not sure where), but the idea is to write down the feelings you want to feel and figure out what makes you feel them. When you write this down, whenever you’re not feeling that way, you can always come back to it later and remind yourself what you need to do to feel that way again.
I hope this helps anyone who needs that little push today to feel confident in themselves! Please let me know in the comments how you stay confident too.
Love,
