When I was younger, I had no idea what manifesting was but I always used to read this quote that said, if you can imagine it, you can make it a reality. I’m obsessed with the term ‘It Girl’ cause it is the simplest way to define how I have been living my life for the last 10 years, even before there was a term for it.
Being an ‘It Girl’ isn’t something you become but something you just are. It literally is living your life as the main character, as your most authentic self with confidence as the girl that doesn’t care what anyone thinks. From the outside, you just look like that girl that people aspire to be!
So how does one become an ‘It Girl’? Here are a few ways to be that girl who is living her best life and living her life unapologetically.
Firstly, Confidence – Know that confidence can take you places that you can’t even imagine. When you feel confident, you naturally attract more opportunities. If you need a little push with being confident, read my article on this here. If there was only one message you were to take away from this post would be how important confidence is and how it is something that doesn’t happen overnight but something you have to actively be working towards.
2. Sometimes you have to be a little delusional – Sometimes you have to push yourself that extra hard at the things that matter to you even if no one else is or you have never seen an example of that in your life. Being delusional literally comes from not always seeing what you will get back in return from something but believing it will happen. The world usually makes things happen for people who live a delusional life as people and yourself start beiving you deserve all the oppertunities that come your way.
3. Work on your appearance – The first thing people will notice about you will always be how you look. Putting in a bit of effort can go a long way. Don’t get too caught up with this one, you don’t need to spend hours on looking perfect and money on loads of make-up and outfits. Here is a link to a simple everyday make-up look and my post on how to find your personal style if you don’t know where to start.
4. Work on you – it’s not just about how you look. Working on yourself and investing in different areas of your life will be the thing that makes you that girl that has it all. Whether it be your fitness, getting your finances in order, working on your career goals or working through your life issues with therapy, working on yourself will always lead to a beautiful life. I’m not saying you have to be winning in all of these areas but even working slowly on any one of these areas will bring you closer to being that ‘It Girl’ who has everything going for her as you’ll be surprised how many people don’t actuallyeven focus on one of these areas of their life.
5. Not being scared of being different – Let the fear of being different go, whether that be in what you wear, your bold views, or your lifestyle choices. An ‘It Girl’ is someone who quite often does stand out in the crowd for more reasons than one and is comfortable in sticking out even if not everyone dresses that way or agrees with everything she does. People are usually scared to be different because they are scared of being judged.
6. Everyone always remembers kindness – Kindness goes a long way with being an ‘It Girl’. No one cares if you are the most stunning person with everything going for you if you are not a nice person. Make sure no matter what you do, you are remembered for being a kind person.
7. Main Character Energy – I love the concept of being the main character in your life. There are times when we focus too much time on other people, their opinions, and what is going on in their lives. Sometimes we should be focusing that energy on ourselves. The Main character is the person who the main plot happens to be but also the best stuff, so act like your life is a movie and watch how quickly you feel like the star ‘It Girl’ you are.
